Evolution Prop Shop supported the Forever Valentino exhibition at M7 Doha in 2022, working alongside Evolution Scenic during the on-site installation and finishing phase. Set within a highly considered gallery environment celebrating Valentino's creative legacy, the project required careful coordination between prop installation, scenic finishing and structural adjustments.

Prop Shop's involvement centred on the prominent face sculpture, assisting with its placement and helping with the on-site painting of both the sculpture and surrounding platform. Evolution Scenic complemented this work through carpentry adjustments to the exhibition's steps and platforms, bringing together specialist capabilities from across Evolution to support the final presentation.

The Challenge

The Forever Valentino exhibition was built around a carefully controlled visual language in which colour, scale, fashion displays and sculptural elements worked together as part of a wider gallery composition.

Evolution's role was to support the existing exhibition concept rather than redefine it. For Prop Shop, this meant working with a major sculptural feature that needed to integrate convincingly into its surrounding display environment. The scale and visibility of the face sculpture made its positioning and finishing particularly important.

At the same time, the physical exhibition environment required carpentry adjustments to steps and platforms. With Prop Shop and Scenic working alongside one another, these different requirements could be addressed through the relevant specialist teams while maintaining consistency across the installation.

CREATIVE STYLING APPROACH

The approach centred on visual integration and precise on-site finishing.

The photographs demonstrate a strong exhibition language built around monochromatic colour treatments, sculptural fashion presentation and carefully composed displays. One of the most distinctive spaces used saturated Valentino red across mannequins, garments, platforms and surrounding surfaces, creating an immersive single-colour environment.

Within this setting, the monumental face sculpture became a significant three-dimensional focal point. Prop Shop assisted with positioning the piece and helped with the on-site painting of the sculpture and its surrounding platform, allowing the feature to sit cohesively within the wider red gallery.

Rather than introducing additional styling that might compete with the established design, the work focused on helping the supplied feature achieve the finish and visual relationship required by the exhibition environment.

PROPS AND DECORATIVE FEATURES

The monumental face sculpture was the principal prop element within Evolution Prop Shop's confirmed scope.

Its oversized scale created a strong visual counterpoint to the surrounding mannequin and garment displays. Prop Shop assisted with its placement before helping with the on-site painting of both the sculpture and its platform.

The wider exhibition incorporated extensive mannequin arrangements, garment displays and decorative fashion presentations. The photographs show red monochromatic mannequin compositions, tiered displays featuring colourful garments, illuminated monochrome presentation structures and neutral gallery arrangements combining garments with fashion sketches and design references.

These wider elements are important to understanding the visual context in which Evolution worked, but they are not attributed to Evolution Prop Shop unless specifically confirmed within the project scope.

Project Outcome

Evolution's collaborative involvement helped resolve key visual and physical elements during the final installation of the Forever Valentino exhibition.

The decorative approach centred on oversized illuminated props and statement seasonal pieces, including towering gift installations, sculptural Christmas trees, illuminated snowflakes and giant Christmas baubles. Each element used scale, light and recognisable festive forms to create an immediate seasonal identity within the Rove Hotels environment.

The Challenge

Christmas styling within hospitality environments needs to create an immediate sense of occasion while working effectively across spaces with different proportions and functions.

For Rove Hotels, the decorative elements needed to provide strong visual impact at prominent entrance locations while also translating successfully into selected interior spaces. Large-scale props provided a clear visual language, allowing the festive theme to remain recognisable and impactful without relying solely on conventional small-format Christmas decorations.

CREATIVE STYLING APPROACH

Evolution Prop Shop used oversized illuminated props as the principal decorative feature throughout the seasonal installations.

Warm white illumination connected the different pieces visually, while variations in form gave individual installations their own character. The festive collection included a monumental arrangement of illuminated gift boxes finished with red ribbon detailing, contemporary geometric Christmas trees, large freestanding snowflakes and oversized Christmas baubles.

For the interior styling, blue, silver-grey and white baubles with gold detailing introduced a cooler decorative palette. Grouped together at different scales, the oversized ornaments created a simple but substantial lobby feature, with Rove Hotels branding incorporated into one of the statement baubles.

PROPS AND DECORATIVE FEATURES

The Christmas decor incorporated a variety of large-format seasonal props for exterior and interior placement.

One of the most prominent installations featured illuminated gift boxes stacked vertically to create the silhouette of an oversized Christmas tree. Warm lighting was combined with red panels, ribbons and large bows, transforming the familiar form of wrapped Christmas presents into a substantial festive statement piece.

Sculptural Christmas tree props provided a more contemporary interpretation of traditional festive decoration. Formed from interlocking illuminated geometric sections and finished with glowing star toppers, the pieces created distinctive vertical features suited to exterior placement.

Large illuminated snowflakes introduced another decorative form within the collection. Freestanding versions were positioned as statement pieces, including alongside Rove Hotels signage, extending the festive styling through entrance and exterior areas.

Inside selected spaces, oversized Christmas baubles created a different type of feature display. Blue, silver-grey and white finishes were paired with gold ornament caps, while a branded white Rove Hotels bauble connected the installation directly with the hotel identity.

Project Outcome

The completed installations established a recognisable festive identity for Rove Hotels through a collection of large-scale seasonal props and illuminated decorative features.

Rather than relying solely on traditional Christmas ornamentation, the use of oversized gift boxes, geometric trees, snowflakes and baubles introduced a more contemporary visual language. Scale and illumination allowed each installation to function as a strong decorative focal point while maintaining a consistent seasonal character.
